Overview
We offer a fantastic range of guided walking holidays in Cape Verde.
If you’re interested in a guided walking holiday in Cape Verde, we’re here to talk you through the options. We’ve been arranging holidays to Cape Verde for over 20 years. Our advice is based on our first-hand experiences. Whether you prefer relaxing walks on flat terrain, or challenging ascents over mountain passes, we can recommend the best walking days for you.
Most of our guided walks are on the islands of Santiago, Fogo and Santo Antao. You will have a different guide on each island, most of whom were born on the island. They know all the paths like the back of their hand and have extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna.
Being accompanied by a guide is like walking with a celebrity. They know most of the people they encounter and always stop to chat with the locals. Being with a guide also means that you also get to enjoy walks that would not be sufficiently well mapped for a self-guided day. You’ll discover narrow tracks that cut through the interior of the islands, crossing through villages and agricultural land.
The locals are always welcoming and generally enjoy interacting with visitors. Even if you don’t speak their language (Creole), a simple ‘Bom Dia’, shaking of hands, and a lot of smiling, is always much appreciated.
Our walking holidays (ideal in January, February and March) are, without a doubt, the best way to explore Cape Verde.
